The 2012 school year is going to be busy yet exciting.
The Board of Trustees has deliberated around the continued implementation of the Zoned Enrolment Scheme. Under advice from the MOE, and with their full support, it has been curtailed with immediate effect, in favour of generating roll growth and to create a situation where prospective families have a choice when considering future school options for their families.
We are keen to maintain six classroom learning areas and provide children with a safe and nurturing environment supported by strong home support.
One of the strengths of the school is not only employing quality teaching staff but the depth of parent interest shown in learning and supporting school wide activity.
This year our association with the University of Waikato continues to evolve. On Wednesdays for the full day, Year 1 Student Teachers visit classes and at the end of the year have a three week practicum in the school as well. Our teachers will provide them with on going advice and guidance and organise various professional studies tasks with them.
A whole school production is planned for term three and we are likely to have a visit from the Education Review Office in the second half of 2012.
We look forward to the usual term by term Inter school Sports Days. October is busy with the School Agricultural Day and this year we host the Cluster Group Agricultural Day Happy viewing of our website.
